Steamboat Fat Biking Gear List
For all rentals and guided experiences you can expect the latest weather and trail conditions before you head out so you can prepare accordingly. Here is our suggested checklist of gear to stay warm and rolling on your next fat bike ride:
- Cold weather appropriate clothing such as synthetic or wool wicking base layers along with wind/snow blocking shell (similar to how you might ski). If it’s warm consider a lighter XC ski pant and if it’s cold go with a heavier alpine ski pant.
- Small backpack or fanny pack to carry essentials and shed your clothing layers if you get warm
- Warm boots and gloves (Having a backup pair of gloves is helpful)
- Sunglasses
- Energy snacks & water
- Sunscreen and lip balm
